Stephen Covey, author of the famous self-leadership book "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", coined the phrase “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing” and he's definitely onto something.
It's not uncommon for new business owners with us here at Prosperity Of Life to get a little bit overwhelmed in their early days - there's set up steps to complete, some technical things to learn, a bunch of video tutorials to watch & zooms to be on, and so so many people to meet 🙃 BUT through the one on one training that we provide in these early days, as well as the ongoing group training sessions & some extra behind the scenes support, we do have all the right guidance in place to help our newer people get through that initial learning curve.
I connect with many of our New Distributors on what we call a "Welcome Zoom" and we often talk about the overwhelm point. I say to them - "It's like buying a 1000 piece puzzle & tipping it out on the coffee table & looking at the pile of pieces... it doesn't look anything like the picture on the box, right?" I assure them that by the time they get to the end of their set up steps & are in the mode of running the day to day mechanics of their business, they'll look back at the puzzle & realise that the whole picture is there & it's beautiful. And that's a really cool moment & certainly one worth Celebrating! You've literally just constructed your new business! Congrats!
I have to say, we are pretty proud of our training here. We have video tutorials that guide the new person through every single step, it's broken down into small bite size pieces so it's easy to follow & of course there's a whole support team behind the scenes to assist as well. A lot of it is "Click here" & "Drag & drop" style set up and some of it takes a little more input, but all of it is so worth it for having your Prosperity Of Life business up & running.
From time to time we can get a little bit messy with our daily activities & so I encourage new people to do a self check on that & refocus when needed - that's where the "Keep the main thing the main thing" comes into it... In my early days I was given a great piece of advice - to have 2 results that you focus on. One is getting a result with my Personal Development - and that bit is easy, you seriously can't do our courses and NOT get a result! It's also enjoyable, PD is absolutely like a treat but should be treated as a necessity. The second result to focus on is in the Business side of things. I was told to cast my mind forward to when I had a team of my own, catching up at events, generating my own sales - because that's what we've come here to do. So, when you peel it all back, Personal Development + Business Activity = Long Lasting Sustainable Success and for me that's the grand prize.
I'll often get asked the question (especially from the Mums & Dads in our community) - how do I manage this around the kids on school holidays? Or, we're about to travel, how do I manage this? That's when I tell them to get the important things done first & the optional extras afterwards. You can run this business in the nooks & crannies of you day (including traveling!) if you just focus on doing the important things first.
We are seeing so many "newer" Distributors knocking out results very early on in their business and of course tons of "oldies" (you know who you are!) continuing to create great success after more than a decade here. Both are equally as cool - and it comes down to getting the right stuff done, week in week out, year in year out.
We had an amazing internal training call this week with long standing Prosperity Of Life Distributors Lise Reitsma & Lee Anne Haggard (they've both been with the company for over a decade) & they talked about a really important topic - DMO (Daily Method of Operation). It's about how to get the "Business stuff" done, no matter what. I'm going to talk about that in more detail in next week's blog because there are some super great points to take notice of.
When Rachel Krider & Shane Krider feature on our training zooms you'll hear them speak about their Business habits from the early days & of course now. Interestingly enough, despite their very different personalities they have many of the same business principles. They will schedule specific times they work, (Rach is a hard no for working on a Friday afternoon!), they're both fastidious about embracing the learning curve that happens in a new business and they both add in an extra helping of fun. They are action oriented & their focus is never turned away from needs to be done within that formula. Success leaves clues!
So, if you've been around a while, have you done a quick review of what important things you're allocating your time & attention to? If you're new, are you keeping your focus on the main things? It is certainly a game changer so get the clarity you need & get busy doing all the right things.
To Your Success!

Love this! Great Blog! Having a strong DMO has definitely played a big part in my success in my Business for sure.
Thanks for A great post and for all of the comments, so great to see a community that cares enough to read and post!
Thanks for that, Kirsty.
When I started I honestly took about 10 wwwks to get through the getting started steps as well as the Web page tutorials and the rest. My biggest challenges were 1. I used all my savings just to join (I had to be a part of it), so I often had to wait for my job to pay to take the next step. 2. My upline was "available" if I needed them but I was generally flailing on my own to find my groove between jobs (yes, plural) and zoom calls.
I still need to remind myself that, although I may want to move and grow faster, it's not about forcing it. It's about finding a…
We often get asked: "What makes the top result getters successful? Is there a recipe?" Well yes, there sort of is. When you join this business, you're given a one-pager called "6 Daily Activities for Success"... keys to practice for getting in your business flow. And for me, it starts with the two core things Kirsty mentioned in this article - foundation stones, if you like - and then gradually building our skills and integrating the other 4 into our daily habits. It's a cool business when leaders share the "how"! 😀
This is gold! It may not be easy but it is definitely simple when you keep the main thing the main thing :). Letting life be fun, rewarding and magical.
